Description rob2g2 2026-03-05 19:12:00 UTC
while the official minio repository is not maintained any more, Ruohang Feng from pigsty.io has decided to fork the project and put it into maintenance mode - meaning: no new featues, but CVEs being taken care of. He also re-added the admin console again.

more info: https://blog.vonng.com/en/db/minio-resurrect/

The project now lives under https://github.com/pgsty/minio

Hopefully we could migrate www/minio to use this codebase and upgrade to RELEASE.2026-02-14T12-00-00Z

I do not want to maintain an unofficial fork of an application in the ports tree. Or at least do not want to be responsible for this. If someone wants to move to that fork they have to take the ownership. So let me know if you want to take ownership.

I'm also not fond of the idea of using some random fork which at least for now seems to be a one man band thing. Perhaps have a look at www/garage ?
