PCSX2 Log

FreeBSD freebsd 15.1-STABLE FreeBSD 15.1-STABLE stable/15-n284411-712623ab14b9 GENERIC amd64

Amd rx 460
ryzen 5 5600x
32 gb RAM

Trying to run a game immediately yields two error popups
"Startup Error: Failed to initialize GS"
and
"Error: Failed to create render device. This may be due to your GPU not supporting the chosen renderer (Vulkan), or becayse your graphics driver needs to be updated."
OpenGL is not an option that I can select for my GPU in the settings. I also tried with a nvidia RTX 3060ti which did have OpenGL as an option but the same error was given. On recent-ish version of Fedora linux it works fine.

I'm on amd64 15.0-RELEASE with an nVidia GTX 1080 Ti, using packages from the "latest" repository:
 - pcsx2: 2.6.3
 - nvidia-driver-580: 580.173.02

The emulator works fine here with both renderers, OpenGL or Vulkan.

I see you are using 15.1-STABLE. AFAIK packages are still build for 15.0, so maybe you need to rebuild the video driver packages on 15.1-STABLE.

Hello Leo,

Unfortunately, same here : I cannot reproduce the problem on 15.1-RELEASE + NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 using latest Nvidia drivers.

As Stefan said, I would suggest to try to rebuild video drivers + pcsx2 and see how it goes.

You may also want to reinit your settings by deleting the ~/.config/PCSX2 directory before restarting the emulator.

Best regardds,

Ganael.
