Gimp simply dumps it core if its tries to share it memory (default behavore) 
with one of the plugins.

Fix: 

Add the --no-shm
How-To-Repeat: Start gimp under system out of the CVS of RELEND_4_8 15 jun 2003 with out 
any options.

I am running -STABLE, and was unable to reproduce this with 1.3.15 or 1.3.16. 
Which version of gimp are you using?  Did you install it from ports or 
packages?  Do you have Sys V primative support compiled into the kernel?

The submitter had removed Sys V primative support from his kernel.  Without 
these options, gimp will not be able to use shared memory space for its 
plugins.  Since Sys V primatives are enabled by default, this bug will 
not be fixed.
