Same problem with FreeBSD 5.4 and 3Ware 8506 RAID5.
Comment 2 dirk.meyer 2007-07-21 14:02:38 UTC
The problem still exists:
FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE #8: Sun May 27 00:00:08 CEST 2007

twe0: <3ware Storage Controller. Driver version 1.50.01.002> port 0xb000-0xb00f mem 0xf2800000-0xf280000f,0xf2000000-0xf27fffff irq 17 at device 1.0 on pci3
twe0: [GIANT-LOCKED]
twe0: 12 ports, Firmware FE7S 1.05.00.065, BIOS BE7X 1.08.00.048

five times on the console:
twe0: AEN: <twe0: drive timeout for unknown unit 5>

System frozen for two hours, "reset" pressed manual

kind regards Dirk
