Description subhajit 2005-02-10 10:40:12 UTC
Had Following problem in IPV6 imlementation

 | Linux |-<eth1>------------------<rl0>-| FREE BSD |

Sent an ping6 request from Linux to FreeBSD

Got Ping Echo Reply

Now deleted the interface IPV6 adrress from the FREEBSD Cache by

# ndp -d <ipb6AddressOfLinuxEth1>%rl0

Then send continuous ping request ( Echo request from linux , eth1 ) to FreeBSD

FreeBSD not sending any neighbor soliciation message.

Finally no Ping Reply back msg from FREEBSD to Linux.

Conclusion : FreeBSD is not initiating Neighbor solicition message in response to ICMPV6 Echo request if Neighbor cache is empty.

How-To-Repeat: Had Following problem in IPV6 imlementation

 | Linux |-<eth1>------------------<rl0>-| FREE BSD |
