the compaq-cc port cannot install currently, as it depends on the redhat linux beeing installed. Unfortunately the current linux_base for redhat are all not available on alpha architecture. (The Debian linux_base does not install due to mismatch of libc6 version. With gentoo there seems to be a problem of missing or different libraries, so that compaq-cc won't compile properly.) Fix: I really do not know! Maybe there is still an old version of the redhat linux base for alpha, that could be reintegrated into ports? How-To-Repeat: cd /usr/ports/lang/compaq-cc && make install

State Changed From-To: open->suspended Suspended until linux_base-debian is fixed or other working alpha linux_base port is created. Freebsd-emulation@ is not supposed to do it.
State Changed From-To: suspended->closed Since I last worked on this PR, support for alpha has been dropped in -CURRENT, and support for any linux on alpha has been dropped in the other branches. The odds of anything happening on this are nil, so close with "we aren't going to do this." Hat: portmgr
