Description Benjamin 2006-03-01 16:00:18 UTC
When trying to play sound on this Acer notebook the kernel spits out
"pcm:play:0 play interrupt timeout, channel dead" messages.

pcm0: <Intel ICH6 (82801FB)> port 0xe100-0xe1ff,0xe200-0xe23f mem 0xd00c0000-0xd00c01ff,0xd00c0200-0xd00c02ff irq 11 at device 30.2 on pci0
pcm0: <Avance Logic ALC250 AC97 Codec>

At first glance the device is recognised correctly but as soon as you try to play any sound, the following message occurs.

pcm0:play:0: play interrupt timeout, channel dead

pciconf snippet:
pcm0@pci0:30:2: class=0x040100 card=0x007a1025 chip=0x266e8086 rev=0x04 hdr=0x00
    vendor   = 'Intel Corporation'
    device   = '82801FB/FR/FW/FRW AC '97 Audio Controller'
    class    = multimedia
    subclass = audio

/dev/sndstat entry:
FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm)
Installed devices:
pcm0: <Intel ICH6 (82801FB)> at io 0xd00c0000, 0xd00c0200 irq 11 bufsz 16384 kld snd_ich (1p/1r/0v channels duplex default)

Fix:

Dont know
How-To-Repeat: Try to play sound on the Acer TravelMate 4652LMi via snd_ich driver.
