*** Error code 1

Stop in /opt/ports/x11-toolkits/linux-pango.

Fix:

no idea: it's blocking other ports (linux-realplayer).
How-To-Repeat: 	seems to happen repeatedly/reproducibly

Seems that something is got corrupted at your system. Mind the line:
"/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.86619: sed: command not found"
at your report.

Yes, I saw that but didn't know what to make of it.

[/usr/home/paul]:: which sed
/usr/bin/sed

Which sed is it looking for?

This is not a linux-pango problem, but probably a hosed environment (either
a non-default PATH, or using a non-default linux base or something like this).
