If I attempt to use the 'latest' packages on FreeBSD (I am using amd64), including on a virtual machine, an attempt to use 'settings' core dumps as follows once I try to set power options: $ gnome-control-center (gnome-control-center:83588): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: 09:37:11.984: Settings schema 'org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power' does not contain a key named 'power-saver-profile-on-low-battery' Trace/BPT trap (core dumped) I am currently unable to change any settings and (possibly related) the screensaver just goes to a black screen rather than turning off my monitor. I see the following ports install, perhaps there is a schema difference that keeps this from working? gnome-control-center-41.0 Control center for GNOME 3 project gsettings-desktop-schemas-41.0 Collection of globally shared GSetting schemas gnome-power-manager-3.32.0 Power management system for the GNOME Desktop gnome-settings-daemon-3.38.2 GNOME 3 settings daemon
Confirmed .. same problem after fresh install on new laptop. But there is also problem with gnome-control-settings user tab. It crashed gnome-control-settings and if u try to start new instance of gnome-control-center nothing happends. Workaround is to delete in .config/dconf/user file and then gnome-control-center works again but problem is back again if u click on user tab.
I mean gnome-control-center not settings :) :)
Here is the method you can open the control-center again. You can use "dconf-editor" to change the default panel display when start gnome-control-center, the setting in '/org/gnome/control-center/last-panel' and then you can change the value to the panel you want to open next time. The panel value you can use "gnome-control-center -l" to get.
Dies on startup for me as regular user but not as root. But then dies as root when I click on Display then anything else.
