I get the same with ksh-1.0.7 ksh93u+m is the renewed development of ksh93 based on AT&T ksh93u+m (stable) Maybe it's a KDE thing? Looks like this is a krunner problem. (In reply to Paul Floyd from comment #2) Ksh, like any shell inherits its $CWD from its caller. Unless the user instructs it otherwise in .profile. krunner is part of 11/plasma5-plasma-workspace. BTW, you can verify this by temporarily changing your shell to another. The behaviour changed with the last quarterly update.
