I'm running this on both a Thinkpad T60 and T40. In both instances, I've installed kde4 via pkg_add -vr (so binary packages) after installing 9.0-RELEASE. The screen "locks" (as in asks for a password) very frequently. It's easily triggerable by using the function key. But i've seen it do it at odd moments too. I'll then be greeted by a large spam of notifications about power saving. (This is with AC plugged in.) I'd like to assist in debugging why this is occuring but I have no idea where to begin. :) How-To-Repeat: Hit "fn" on said thinkpad models.

Do you still get these problems? What do you mean with "locking"? Does it ask for a password as in "enter password to unlock KWallet" or does it really lock the screen (i.e., everything disappears apart from the password form)? Can you check in global settings what's the key associated to session locking (in Run Command Interface section)? Can you expand a bit more on power saving notifications?

Hi, I haven't updated my ports tree yet, it's all based on 9.0-RELEASE ports/packages. It isn't asking to unlock kwallet, it's locked the screen (as in like a screen saver lock) I'll try to take a screenshot or photo the next time I have the laptop open. I'll also report the kde package set that's installed. Adrian
