Dear reader, i'm using an old Pentium III 800 MHz with Gigabyte GA-6vx7-4x mainboard and an "old style" 40 wire ata cable. This causes during boot from hard disk many, many errors like: g_vfs_done():adaXsXa[READ(offset=..., length=65536)]errror = 5 tried disabling mainboard pheriperals (including used interrupts) etc. Trying your friend NetBSD was telling somthing about "non 80 wire cable, switching down to UDMA33). Now, the solution was clear: using a 80 wire cable, the problem disappeared. Perhaps there should be a automatic behaviour like netbsd. Kind regards, J. Barth
