In response to Eitan Adler's "Action Required" email from May 17th, change RESTRICTED to match description in /usr/ports/LEGAL. Fix: See attached patch file Patch attached with submission follows: How-To-Repeat: % grep systemc /usr/ports/LEGAL % (cd /usr/ports/cad/systemc && make -VLEGAL)
State Changed From-To: open->feedback could you please add stage support to your port? thanks in advance.
Daniel, here's the status of this port. 1) Despite this PR on 17 May, eadler reset the port (no maintainer) on 26 May. He probably didn't know about this PR. 2) On 25 May, miwi@ asked for stage support in addition. Nothing has been submitted so far 3) As a result, the port would have been reset for not being staged 4) Right now the port is on a path to be removed completely due to lack of staging. If you still care about, you should probably take action ASAP
A personal email to me from Daniel: "I just found this mail in my spam folder. While I would love to continue to maintain the systemc port, at the moment, I, unfortunately, do not have the time to properly do so. So unless someone else adds staging support or is willing to take maintainership, I reckon the path for this port would be to go with option 4 (remove it) for the time being. Sorry. Kind regards, Daniel" I'll make the LEGAL change outline in the diff, then close this PR and wait for the port to be reaped. Thanks for your past support on maintaining the port, Daniel!
A commit references this bug: Author: marino Date: Mon Jul 28 07:31:49 UTC 2014 New revision: 363114 URL: http://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/ports/363114 Log: cad/systemc: match RESTRICTED text with /usr/ports/LEGAL The former maintainer indicates that he no longer has time to work on this port. He understands is not staged and thus headed for removal, so the RESTRICTED update is being done by itself in case somebody else steps up to stage the port. PR: 189883 Submitted by: maintainer (at the time) (Daniel Thiele) Approved by: portmgr (implicit, NOT_STAGED) Changes: head/cad/systemc/Makefile
