Trying to bootup this windows laptop HP Folio 9470m with FreeBSD-11.0-CURRENT-amd64-20140811-r269824-memstick.img image on a usb stick to install FreeBSD on it. If I select "UEFI Hybrid (With CSM)" ----------------------------------- And then "Boot From EFI file", navigate to the BOOTx64.efi and try to boot it, stop at loader prompt, set "set kern.vty=vt". "boot": it prints "EFI framebuffer info": http://imgur.com/QvoZZpg and then panics in vm_map_lookup() http://imgur.com/ZoZqEw5 "boot -v": it panics at cam_quirkmatch() and drops to db>. Looks like this: http://imgur.com/bOmuRzY http://imgur.com/eZznB8Y If I select "UEFI Native (Without CSM)" --------------------------------------- And then "Boot From EFI file", navigate to the BOOTx64.efi and try to boot it, stop at loader prompt, set "set kern.vty=vt". "boot": it prints "EFI framebuffer info" and hangs there: http://imgur.com/mNCWUbL "boot -v": does the same thing as "boot" I've tried booting up with Legacy boot but that also fails. (Besides, I want to make sure uefi works better ;-))
Tried 10.1-BETA1 image without success: https://people.freebsd.org/~gjb/10.1-BETA1/FreeBSD-10.1-BETA1-amd64-uefi-memstick.img.xz Booting from EFI file panics right away. http://imgur.com/k9F8mZu
Couldn't even boot the laptop in legacy bios mode. I no longer own this laptop. We can close this issue. Closed: reason: "Overcome by events" (in this case that event was treading this laptop with lenovo X230) :-)
