Dear Guys,

I bought a dell inspiron 5548 but xorg does not recognize amd radeon but linux mint runs very well. The problem is that I bought this new note book to run pc bsd not linux. The siTe that have a chart of amd video board radeon says it is part suported. The pc bsd team said that the problem is with freebsd. Will it be fixed? when? AMD Radeon R7 M265 with 2 GB DDR3 graphics memory part suported but i cant install pc bsd. Thanks a lot.

Hi!

Your GPU requires a much more recent DRM than we have in the FreeBSD kernel. It even requires a brand new driver called "amdgpu".

There is work in progress to update our DRM and port amdgpu. Expect something to test in July or August hopefully. Follow the freebsd-x11@ mailing-list for more news on that.
