There is no development on devel/freeocl port upstream anymore as far as I can see and I'd like to drop my maintainership on this port in favor of devel/pocl, Bug 171914.

This helps, I think, to provide a better ports repositort quality instead of having some corpses lying around.

it's clear that you want to drop maintainership, but it seems that we should deprecate the port for removal too?  (that part is not clear)

I will first check PR 204393 again and look for solving the problem first. It seems that several people still want the port and it seems wise to keep it as long devel/pocl isn't ready for being "imported" into the tree.
