Description andy 2020-03-10 03:48:03 UTC
The mouse is broken for me as of this update 1.20.7_2,1, prior versions work. Mouse does not move. Please let me know what other info to provide.

Can you try the patch to libxkbcommon in https://reviews.freebsd.org/D23860 , alternatively set the XKB_DEFAULT_RULES env variable to 'evdev'.

There are also several tips and comments in https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=196678 related to input devices in X, as well as in the x11@ mail archives.

Adding kern.evdev.rcpt_mask=6 to /etc/sysctl fixes the mouse issue. However now the "UP" arrow key does not scroll up in a terminal window e.g. Bash shell. Any suggestions how to fix that?

# setxkbmap -query
rules: evdev
model: pc105
layout: us

Have you tried the updated libxkbcommon? It has the patch I linked to in comment #1.
Comment 6 andy 2020-03-23 01:42:27 UTC
I have libxkbcommon-0.10.0_1
I also added "setxkbmap -model pc105 -layout us" to .xinitrc and everything is back to normal now and working correctly. Thank you for the help.
