Description rashey 2021-02-16 23:17:13 UTC
Hi, I'm using Live CD for restore purpose and I have an issue with that on FreeBSD 13.0-BETA2.
I can't access to my dump files anymore because I'm getting an error while trying to load gmirror module:

root@:~ # gmirror load
KLD geom_mirror.ko: depends on kernel - not available or version mismatch
linker_load_file: /boot/kernel/geom_mirror.ko - unsupported file type
gmirror: cannot load geom_mirror: Exec format error

root@:~ # kldload geom_mirror
KLD geom_mirror.ko: depends on kernel - not available or version mismatch
linker_load_file: /boot/kernel/geom_mirror.ko - unsupported file type
kldload: an error occurred while loading module geom_mirror. Please check dmesg(8) for more details.

There is the same issue with other modules too.

(In reply to rashey from comment #1)
I forgot to add that the pciconf output comes from installed FreeBSD 13.0-BETA2 where the issue does not occur.
Comment 3 rashey 2021-02-27 17:10:19 UTC
Okay, I found where the problem is.
The issue occurs when I have two flash drives with 12.1 and 13.0 connected to USB ports and I'm booting 13.0 using UEFI boot menu.

^Triage: I'm sorry that this PR did not get addressed in a timely fashion.

By now, the version that it was created against is out of suppoprt.
Please re-open if it is still a problem on a supported version.
