The pkg in the repo has been built from version 0.9.3_8 of upstream code that was written for Python 2.x .

A later variant (v1.14) has been produced from a fork that is now Python 3.x based. This is available from a new upstream source in August 2023.

The new fork of PyOBD is still not standards compliant, particularly not PEP517-compliant.

I suggested the author to fix that: https://github.com/barracuda-fsh/pyobd/issues/5

Otherwise porting it would require a lot of custom work.
