Moin moin

The display I attach my notebook to at work (HP E34m G4) via USB-C has an internal USB-Hub, identifying as "GenesysLogic".

Having the display attached to my Notebook leads to it spontaneously rebooting after a few minutes (feels like 10-30 minutes).

Powering off the hub device using usbconfig after attaching the display seems to lead to a stable system.

(So it might be one of the USB-Devices hooked into the Hub in the display, like the ethernet device, sound card, ... that causes the issue, or the hub itself).

I can provide further information, if needed (and told how to get it :D )

My advice is to start with:

  usbconfig -lv
  pciconf -lv
