Hello, I just noticed this error when building on FreeBSD 14.1 with a recently-refreshed ports tree.

I also see fallout with similar issues: https://portsfallout.com/fallout?port=textproc%2Fpy-towncrier23%24

Now I see it's building fine for me on both 13.3 and 14.1

I have no idea why it is now building.

I am sure the ports trees were updated overnight.

Leaving this open though, just so maintainer sees it.

At this time: no action required.
