base b218441ac074d9cb9417e284980bf87f79a89585 (2021-03-28) added a deprecation notice to the manual page, AFAICT /usr/doc/website/content/en/releases/ had no corresponding release note.

base a5f7047f28654aa297c57a9d24f6d1408641b975 (authored 2022-12-12, committed 2024-11-03) postponed removal. 

The wiki page is outdated. 

<https://github.com/bsdjhb/devsummit/blob/main/15.0/planning.md> does not mention gvinum.

I think it was just postponed because no one got around to removing it.  I can add it to the planning doc.  I might also take a stab at removing it.
