patch-Makefile.in hard-coded /usr/local/sbin/apxs instead of using APXS, which is ${LOCALBASE}/sbin/apxs by default.
Also, update the check for a threaded python to know about freebsd-5's threading libraries.
Take maintainerhsip as well.
