Description Zoltan Tesch 2004-09-06 07:10:04 UTC
I would like to use this token with openct-0.6.1. It seems that card
initialization, ATR query, reset and status request works fine, but when
the first data packet is sent to the card, the program receives the
following error (ktrace output):

   663 ifdhandler CALL ioctl(0x7,USB_SET_TIMEOUT,0xbfbfc14c)
   663 ifdhandler RET ioctl 0
   663 ifdhandler CALL ioctl(0x7,USB_DO_REQUEST,0xbfbfc150)
   663 ifdhandler RET ioctl -1 errno 5 Input/output error

It seems to me the control messages are handled well, but data messages
drops the error.

Maybe this is not a kernel problem but I have no any idea how I can be
sure about it.

How-To-Repeat: Just issue the pkcs15-tool -c -C command

To which port does this problem apply?

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=71417

Adding to audit trail:

Submitter is attempting to port openct and is having this problem
with the USB subsystem. Therefore, this is not a 'ports' PR.

Submitter has replied that this is a problem in the USB subsystem,
not an existing port.

In the attatchment you find the log. This log contains events, when I
attach the token, run the pkcs15-tool -c -C command and detach the token.
sysctl settings:
hw.usb.debug: 10
hw.usb.uhci.debug: 10
hw.usb.ugen.debug: 10

Other usb related settings does not give me more information.
If I can send you more information, please let me know. Send me an email

the USB subsystem has been revamped since this PR was filed, can you
try w/ a recent version of FreeBSD?
