I considered it but since you cannot control USE_SSL via an OPTION
variable yet I decided to offer the configuration as is. Until this is
sorted out, I'd like the port to stay that way. (Yes, I know you can
include openssl.mk conditionally -- I did in in www/squid and will
probably copy this in the upcoming squid26/squid3 ports, but I'd
rather not repeat this stunt in ports started from scratch.)
