Created attachment 226527 [details] A screenshot from before the bug bit I prefer: Steps-Mono [UKWN], 12 Until recently, window title bars appeared as they should. After temporarily experimenting with themes, then reverting to Steps-Mono [UKWN] for window titles, there's now a sans-serif font.

fontconfig is upgraded (no longer locked). This bug persists.
I needed to restart kwin (e.g. logout, log back in) with kwin 5.23.5 and fontconfig 2.13.94_1,1 after changing the window title fonts, but I did end up with steps-mono [UKWN]. Full steps I took: - build steps-mono with poudriere - pkg install steps-mono - alt-f2, "fonts" - change all my fonts to match the ones in your screenshot - click apply, then ok - notice window title has not changed - logout, log in In other words: can't reproduce.
