The address is valid (autocompleted) for assignee and CC purposes, however:

* the validity is questionable

----

If kern@ is a valid email address: should it ever be used for kern bugs?

<https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/describecomponents.cgi?product=Base%20System> shows bugs@ by default.

<https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_activity.cgi?id=252227> 252227 is amongst the handful of bugs that have used the kern@ address.

I found just one report with kern@ as the assignee. Bug 268492 comment 10 changes this.
